about me
Anissa R. Ferris
Psychotherapist and Certified Enneagram Teacher
I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. I love this city and desire to help build a community of people who desire to view life from a growth mindset verses a fixed mindset. Nature has wired us to conserve energy and see all the possible dangers of a situation. That pattern may keep us safe but it can also keep us stuck. I aim to teach others how to tolerate uncomfortable emotions/sensations in order to break free of patterns that don’t serve the highest good.
I attended UNC-CH for college and received my Masters in Social Work at ECU. I have been in private practice since 1998 and have worked with a variety of issues like anxiety, depression, stress management and developing parenting skills. I love to learn about ways to help clients grow into their full potential. I am also an active member of Hayes Barton UMC and enjoy teaching prayer practices designed to develop Mindfulness. In my free time, I enjoy walking, gardening, reading and hiking with my college-aged son.
Where do I work with clients?
As mentioned, we might walk the greenway, or meet as a group at your office. Most often we will first meet at the space I rent at a church in Midtown or on Fridays near the Village District.
